Hot-air drying processes in process engineering and the process industry, extreme thermal conditions in vacuum hardening systems, or high temperatures during the manufacture of products in industrial baking machines – all these requirements place high demands on a bespoke coupling solution.
Our options for the technical implementation of your specific requirements are virtually unlimited. Below you will find examples of customised adaptations and specially tailored solutions based on the conditions relevant to your application.
Process heat requires high thermal resistance
In specialised plants, high temperatures are a deliberately induced and controlled part of a process. For example, workpieces are hardened, or components in the final stages of production are completely stripped of production residues in a hot-air drying process.
For these applications, customised coupling designs from the Loewe GK series of articulated couplings are used.
Stainless steel is used throughout as the material for the couplings. Due to the high ambient temperatures, the axially rigid couplings are additionally fitted, depending on the requirements profile, with polymer slide bushings that offer high thermal resistance, or with heat-resistant bronze slide bearings.

Axial stiffness for simultaneous rotation and lifting functions in industrial baking machines
In commercial baking machines, speed, efficiency, ease of use, rapid loading of baked goods and consistent baking quality are crucial factors.
Case Study:
Simultaneous Rotation and Lifting Functions in Energy-Efficient Baking Machines
Energy-efficient rack ovens with rotating racks and turntables meet these requirements perfectly. Operation is user-friendly: The rack trolleys are loaded from ground level and are then fed into the rotating mechanism by means of a lifting device. The Loewe GK Torque cardan coupling, specially developed for this purpose in a spigot design, handles the rotation and lifting functions of the loaded rack trolleys. In addition to high thermal resistance, this application places high demands on axial stiffness as well as parallel and angular compensation. Accordingly, the coupling material and the high-performance plain bearings, which exhibit excellent wear resistance at high temperatures, are precisely adapted to the prevailing standard thermal ambient conditions between 200 and 250°C.
