Avoidance of outgassing materials in vacuum or medical technology

Under vacuum conditions, outgassing materials can condense on product surfaces or entail contamination or even destruction of sensitive components such as optical lenses, semiconductor wafers or microelectronic components.
These outgassing materials can also adversely affect clean room conditions in medical and pharmaceutical applications.

Matched materials

The Sensorfit coupling is made of materials matched to the applications mentioned. With an as low as 0.08% TML (Total Mass Loss) - one of the most critical indicators for the outgassing rates of materials under vacuum conditions - the PPS clamping hub material is still well below the value of e.g. PEEK. This also applies to the other CVCM (Collected Volatile Condensable Material) indicator.
The other Sensorfit components, such as its POM functional element, the chemically nickel-plated positioning dowels and VA clamping screws are vacuum-compatible and make the Sensorfit the ultimate choice for an encoder coupling to be used in, for example, vacuum, medical and pharmaceutical applications, or applications under the influence of corrosive fluids.
