Paper machines are used for the production of paper, paperboard or cardboard. In the process, the material runs through various processes and stations in the paper machine. One of these is sieving, in which the actual sheet forming process takes place - from head box to paper quality optimisation, pressing, drying, reeling and finally cutting.
Thanks to their accuracy, compactness and displacement capacity, SCHMIDT-KUPPLUNG couplings are used in a variety of stations in the shaking process of breast rolls and for driving sieve rolls and paper cutters, such as longitudinal and cross cutting machines, three-knife trimmers and rotary cutter systems.
Axially stiff coupling in the head box
The so-called head box is located at the beginning of the papermaking process. In this phase, the fibrous material suspension is fed to the rotating sieve. Fibre arrangement optimisation
In the subsequent sieving step, fibre arrangement optimisation is performed to obtain correspondingly high paper quality. The >>Semiflex Standard couplings carry out the breast roll motion sequence. Short-lenght connection in paper-cutting systems
In the further machining process, products are given defined formats. This occurs in so-called paper-cutting systems such as three-knife trimmers or cross cutters. For example, after a printing step, arcs are cut according to layout specifications, before they reach, for example, the folding machine. Likewise, after folding and binding, the final format must be subjected to one more final trim.
